1961 Alfa Romeo 2000 Sprint

We had an email from Ruedi Aschwanden with information this project, first posted on the AlfaBB website back in July 2005. The then owner (Mark Kirkpatrick) posted that he had just bought the car and he said:
“After a couple of hours t-cutting the paint back I found some red paint! I've done one side but the rest of the car is a miserable looking oxidised pink colour! The panel in front of the bonnet (hood) is fairly mangled - looks like t was hit with a tractor but I was pleasantly surprised at how solid the rest of it is - I need to make up a couple of small repair panels for the lower front wings, I also will need a front valance making up - I guess they aren't available or are they?

Needs new floors front and back as well a boot (trunk) floor and spare wheel well which are virtually completely gone. The lower 6 inches of the bootlid will also need replacing. Have filled cylinders with WD40 in the hope of freeing up the engine but it's frozen solid at the moment. Have removed front bumper and grille assemblies to see if I can knock out a deep dent just above the passenger side front lights. Is there any point trying to free up the engine or should I just pull it and start a rebuild? By the way, the clock is showing mileage of 63k”.

By January 2007 he had decided to sell the car, he included these parts in the sale: Front valance (in 3 sections), Front Nose repair section (in 2 sections), Front floors, Front fender repair sections (left and right), Boot floor - complete, Spare wheel well - complete, Bootlid repair panel. It was posted to eBay, but that is where the trail goes cold, a quick check on the DVLA website says it was last registered in 2004 with a new V5C issued in March 2005.
