1964 Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint 1600

Mike Marczynski from Classicarco reached out to us to find out more about his 1964 Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint 1600, Type 101. It had been converted to RHD by Ruddspeed earlier in it’s life.
The car has been advertised here on eBay with the following description:
Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint 101 Coupe, 1600cc, confirmed by Archivio Storica Alfa Romeo as manufactured on 23rd  February 1963, and first registered on 10th January 1964, (Exactly 60 years old!!) converted by Ruddspeed, conversion number 252. V5. Currently on SORN. Indicated current mileage 14946 which is the same as recorded by the MOT on Sept 2nd 2005. Old MOTs to 2001, when mileage was recorded as 14292. Was in dry storage in Shipley to March 2020, then continued in dry storage to the present time at Carnforth. The engine (original) is currently out of the car, awaiting a rebuild (currently located in Manchester), we did have it running but removed the engine to fully detail/paint the engine bay, but too many projects means the car regrettably has to be sold as is. Lovely interior, I was told that the seats were retrimmed by an Aston Martin trimmer. This Alfa has the very rare Webasto sunroof! Some old invoices from Alfa Romeo specialists, and AROC confirmation of build date and registration.”
They added a note which reads :
”We have now rechecked and the dismantled engine from this Alfa is the correct SERIES engine for the Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint 112 series, and is AR00112*11418, BUT IS NOT THE SAME ENGINE AS DETAILED ON THE V5, which is AR00112*08912. So at this time we cannot claim the engine as "original". Further investigation and research is therefore needed through Archivio Storica Alfa Romeo or through AROC in the UK.”

Ruddspeed Serial Number: 252

We would love to hear from anyone has more information on the car or would like to add to the history please feel free to contact us here at Ruddspeed.
