1961 Austin Healey 3000 Mk1

In April 1961 this British Racing Green, original right hand drive Austin Healey was fitted with performance modifications from legendary tuning house Ruddspeed; the only recognised UK tuning brand of Healey still coveted today. When studying the original documentation (supplied with the car) we can see that incredibly this brand new Healey was taken down to Ruddspeed where its was taken to pieces and its engine was fitted with a 186HP engine including: a gas flowed high compression cylinder head, performance camshaft, balanced crankshaft, lightened and balanced flywheel, three carburettors, fabricated exhaust manifold and inlet manifold.

In 1997 the car was restored fully from the ground up down to nut and bolt detail with the objective of refurbishing, rather than replacing components for a original car. The car was rotisserie painted from bare metal, rewired, replumbed and the engine rebuilt. The gearbox has been further rebuilt by a marque specialist in 2022. The car is fitted with a 3.5 rear axle for improved cruising. Inside this Ruddspeed 3000 is in excellent condition, the interior lasting the test of time but with new floor mats for some added freshness fitted in 2017. A Moto-Lita steering wheel is a more recent addition as are 3 point static silver seat belts. It has its original log book, Ruddspeed documentation, restoration documentation paper based, restoration documentation photo based, service history and more.
